Recording and Listening Blog

October 1, 2014

My most recent favorite Recording and Listening practice has been to make occasion-specific recordings as a way to assist me with something specific that I am (or will soon be) going through.

For instance, when I am up against a deadline for a project, preparing for an event, in the midst of a detox cleanse, or anything specific and challenging like that, I will check in with the Mentor for a coaching session that I can then listen to again and again as I go through that particular challenge.  What a tremendous support!

It is truly like having a coach throughout the training process for a sport and also during the big game.  These recordings are full of encouragement and everything that I want to remember through the specific challenges, as well as lots and lots of enthusiastic cheerleading.  I am reminded of what team I am playing for—Team Life—and conditioning is NOT on the team!  This Recording and Listening practice has been so supportive for upping my game.

  • The next time you have a specific challenging situation in your life—big or small—check in with the Mentor for a coaching “pep talk” with recorder in hand.  Then, listen, listen, listen as you’re out there on the field.  Go Team Life!
