Recording and Listening Blog

May 13, 2014

Whenever I am at the Monastery, I try to go for a walk and record everything I see and hear.

I describe the leaves on the ground, the twigs, the bark of the trees, the lichen, or the silver color of the dead bushes. I hear my slow footsteps, the sounds of birds, and occasionally the sound of the Monastery bell!

Then when I am back home in the city, I listen to it while I’m there among the tall buildings and the people and the traffic.

  • This week, on day one take a walk and describe everything you see. On day two, take a walk and describe everything you see and hear. On day three, take a walk and describe everything you see and hear and everything you feel in your body.  On day four, take a walk and describe everything you see, hear, feel, and smell!
