Recording and Listening Blog

May 6, 2014

Recently I was totally inspired by a comment made in a group discussion at the Monastery.  Someone talked about recording all the email class submissions and the Guide’s responses generating hours and hours of listening opportunities. I was blown away; that had never occurred to me!

And, conditioning was horrified. “When would you ever have time to do that? You can’t even manage to get through reading them all.”

Of course, that became the perfect opportunity to take it on. I decided to start right then, in the current email class, and began to record the responses. I did not actually have time to record them all. But I did have time to pick one large posting from each of the classes and record that.

So for each assignment, I have 20-30 minutes of what Sangha is seeing and how the Guide responds. Listening to those recordings results in a whole different depth of taking in the guidance than when I simply page through and quickly read the responses.

Because my own processes come up in what everyone else is seeing, it is like having individual guidance for hours.
