It truly isn’t hyperbole when I say that this kind of R/L practice is life changing. Wow. It is so amazing.
Here’s what I did: I kept my recorder beside my bed so that when I first woke up, before I even got out of bed, I would simply turn it on and start recording. I’d call in the Mentor and talk to her about things I had planned for the day and how I would like to experience them.For instance, if I had a telephone meeting, I’d say, “I really want to be present, open, and energetic on my call. I want to connect with so-and-so in a meaningful and memorable way.” The Mentor might add in, “…and perhaps you’d like to be connected to yourself and all of life in that same way?” (She smiles. I can hear it in her voice when she says stuff like this.)
After I’ve recorded all about my day, I would create a few “go-to” recordings to help me remember to be present to my day. Then I would set a few reminders on my phone and listen to these supportive recordings at various times throughout the day.This morning practice doesn’t take a lot of time, but the impact is huge. Instead of conditioning deciding what my focus is going to be — usually on all the urgent to-do’s of the day— the Mentor helps me get centered and to focus on the life I know is possible.

For three days in a row, give yourself the gift of a Morning with the Mentor. Record when you first wake up and let the Mentor help you set some intentions for the “how” of your day. Use whatever reminder system you have to nudge you to listen to your support recordings a few times throughout the day. For extra credit, before you go to sleep, record some appreciation for your Practice and the Mentor.
