Can you imagine the surprise of experiencing ease while doing a “chore” that had resistance attached to it? Now that is what I would call a transformation! 

How did it happen for me?

Well, during a Sunday workshop entitled “We Are Never Truly Alone,” we were guided to make an encouraging recording while doing a small, routine, or daily task that we had resistance to. 

As I set about to begin my task, I centered myself, described in detail why I wanted to do this task, how I was beginning, what I was doing as I was doing it, and how I was feeling as I was completing it. 

Next, I got to test drive the recording. I listened to it as I did the task once again. I could hear the Mentor guiding me through the process every step of the way. It was easy, fun, and revealing!

Hearing the recording while doing this task has become a joyful way for Mentor to partner with me. The shift is from resistance to wonder!

The transformation just happens. 


  • Pick a small daily activity that you want to do but seem to have resistance to. Make a nonjudgmental, encouraging recording while doing the activity. (Perfection is not invited.) Then, do the activity again while listening to the recording. Repeat daily.
